Staying in a pre-erected tent is a great re-introduction to camping. And we very much enjoyed our stay
Huttopia Classic 4 Tent
Recently we stayed in a 4-person classic tent with Huttopia at their Sarlat campsite. Our first camping trip of the year and we opted for a ready-pitched tent. Would we recommend it? Keep reading to find out.
We are big fans of pre-erected tents. They are less time-consuming than bringing our own and it means less time packing up our camping accessories. Our previous pre-erected tent reviews can be found here:
But how does this Huttopia classic 4-person tent live up to the others we have previously stayed in?

Tour Of The Huttopia Classic 4 Tent
This pre-erected tent had everything we required from our camping weekend. Keep reading for our written review and video tour.
Twin bedroom
This room had 2 beds with a little space in between, enough space for our 2-year-old to set up a bed on the floor. The beds were comfy and came with a square pillow, a wool blanket and a fleece blanket. We were also provided with mattress protectors. The two single beds are a standard size of 80x190cm.
On the bedroom divider, there are storage pockets which we used for storing clothing and other items. Whilst it was good to have a bit of clothes storage, it would have been nice to have some form of a wardrobe, though there were hangers to hang dresses from the tent poles.

Double Bedroom
Like the single beds, the double bed came with 2 square pillows, a fleece, and a wool blanket. The bed was a standard double and measured 140x200cm. The bed was comfy and was just what we expected. We brought our own bedding, including rectangular pillows and duvets.
Like the twin bedroom, there were storage pockets on the divider. However, the double room only had one row of pockets as opposed to the twin room with 2 rows.
My only complaint with the bedrooms is that the inners weren’t zippable. I like to be able to zip them up to ensure any creepy crawlies from the outside can’t get in.

Living Area and Kitchen
The kitchen was well-equipped. We had everything we required for our stay. The large fridge with a freezer compartment was very handy for our salad items and we had more than enough crockery. The hob had 2 rings which are enough for most basic meals. The living space was reasonably sized with a large storage box which could be padlocked. In the centre of the room was a dining table with 4 chairs, however, we moved this outside as we mostly ate out there. There wasn’t much cupboard space for food as the inventory took up most of the space so we mostly used the storage box, which is also good to help avoid insects and wildlife getting into your dried foods.

Lighting-wise, when we arrived we noticed 3 portable lamps that we could decide where to place. We chose to put one outside, one in the kitchen area and one in our bedroom. We were also provided with a 5 socket extension lead to plug them into.
Outdoors
Outside is where you’ll find the 2-ring hob and the relaxing deck chairs. We also enjoyed the amount of space our decking had to relax on. Although we had a large pitch, we mostly stayed up on the decking area.

One thing we would recommend is to request a pitch near a water source. We couldn’t find any taps nearby so trekked to the toilet block every time we needed some water. Normally I don’t mind a long trek, but being pregnant and dealing with the hills on the Sarlat campsite wasn’t an easy feat.

Features Of The Tent
The tent is 20m2 with 2 bedrooms and living space. The floor was carpeted and we were provided with all the basic necessities. There is a fridge, 2 ring hob and plenty of crockery and inventory. The front door can be fully zipped up or fully rolled up to make it the perfect place for outdoor, alfresco living.

What to bring with you
Of course, it’s still important to pack some essentials. We always pack tea towels, multi-surface wipes, and kitchen rolls and this time we even brought our own bedding. If you have read some of our previous posts you’ll know we HATE square pillows.
For the Sarlat campsite, we were situated quite far from a toilet block so you may want to bring a portable potty. As many of the Huttopia sites are in nature, I’d definitely pack some mosquito creams and citronella candles.
